At 3:10am on 29th January 2008, my sister Janine gave birth to my niece Nadene Brown. Weighing in at 7 lbs 8½ ozs, Nadene is my first niece and Steven and Janine’s first child. I am now an uncle for the first time… “Fun Uncle Dan” is my full title

Len, one of my mates from work, is the frontman in North East rock band Tubesnake. They’ve been going for around 15 years now and are very highly regarded within the region. They do covers by artists such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Doors and The Beatles.

Happy birthday to my little princess Katie. She is growing up very quickly and is 4 years old today!
Katie loves Disney, especially the Disney Princesses. Almost all of her presents are pink Disney Princess toys, although I also got her a pink digital camera. She loves using my phone to take photos so I thought it was time she got one of her own

Congratulations to my old friends from University Jon and Vix on the birth of their baby boy, Joseph Oliver Noble.
Baby Joe was born on Wednesday 26th July at 23:54, weighing 9lbs 3ozs. I am absolutely over the moon for Jon and Vix. I don’t know a more deserving, loving couple and know that they’ll make fantastic parents. Baby Joe is a very lucky lad to have a Mammy and Daddy as lovely as they are.

Katie’s favourite cartoon character is Dora the Explorer and, as you can see from the picture on the left, Dora is the main theme running through her birthday presents!
I’ll be taking her to see her Nana, Uncle Jay and Auntie Janine later today and have a little party planned for her. Katie’s Mam has another party planned for her this afternoon complete with bouncy castle and paddling pool. Thankfully it looks like today is going to be another hot one, so I hope Katie has a great time.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s “ZigZag Man”!
One of my work buddies, Mel Dawson, inexplicably took this photo of himself on his camera phone. For some unknown reason, he thought it would be a good idea to tear the label off a bottle of Sprite, remove his shirt and stick the label to his body. As if capturing photographic evidence of this madness for his own use wasn’t enough, he decided to show off his physique to everyone at work. He presented the image to us as his superhero alter-ego, ZigZag Man. I’m not sure what sort of special powers ZigZag Man possesses, although I believe he has the ability to delegate work faster than a speeding bullet.
Mel obviously has issues – I think he may be a little mentally unstable. Part of me feels guilty about laughing at his photo. That said, it’s very funny 
EDIT: You know how Batman has his Batmobile? Well, ZigZag Man has his own superhero vehicle – the ZigZag Bike!
Congratulations to my friends Karen and Paul on the birth of their baby boy Fletcher. Or, to give him his full name, Fletcher Oscar Walter Rodger!
Weighing in at 8lbs, baby Fletcher was born yesterday at 2:17pm. Both baby and mother are doing well and I’d like to wish the Rodger Family all the best for the future.
Just think – in 2024, Fletch will be eligible to join the great Quiz Team Aguilera
