Take That Interview With Scott Mills On Radio 1

5 November 2010 11:24

Scott Mills interviews all five of the newly reformed Take That. Good, funny interview, particularly when Mark is caught “resting his eyes” :)

Take That – “Rule The World”

27 September 2007 21:24

Take That will be releasing their new single next month. “Rule The World” has been written and recorded by the band for the star-studded Paramount Pictures movie “Stardust” and will be available on CD and download in October.

The film follows a young man named Tristan (Charlie Cox) who tries to win the heart of Victoria (Sienna Miller) by going on a quest to retrieve a falling star. His journey takes him into a mysterious and forbidden land, where he discovers that the star has turned into a beautiful girl named Yvaine (Claire Danes). Can he defeat the evil witch Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer) and the hordes of rivals who are also trying to claim the star as their own?

You can watch the whole video here – look out for some of the other stars of the film, including Robert de Niro and Ricky Gervais.

Grammy Award-winning producer John Shanks (who also produced “Beautiful World”) worked on the musical arrangement for the track, which was recorded at Abbey Studios, where the video was also shot.

Back For Good?

25 April 2006 18:30

Take That - The Ultimate Tour (Newcastle 2006)Almost eleven years since I last saw Take That in concert (Earls Court, August 1995), I was in the second row at Newcastle Arena last night for The Ultimate Tour 2006!

Any concerns that Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason might be past it were soon dispelled. They appeared on stage to screams from hordes of women, most of whom were probably teenagers when Take That were at the height of their popularity. That said, there was quite an age range in the crowd, from young kids right through to glamorous grannies :)

They performed all the hits, opening with “Once You’ve Tasted Love”. The “Beatles Medley”, from their 1994 tour, was again performed on a circular stage above the crowd. Complete with requisite weird and wonderful costumes, they were accompanied by Beverley Knight on “Relight My Fire”. Former band member Robbie Williams joined them on stage in the form of a 20ft hologram to sing the intro to “Could It Be Magic”, before the party finally ended with the crowd singing along and dancing to “Never Forget”.

The complete set was as follows:

  1. Once You’ve Tasted Love
  2. Pray
  3. Today I’ve Lost You
  4. Why Can’t I Wake Up With You
  5. It Only Takes A Minute
  6. Babe
  7. Everything Changes
  8. A Million Love Songs
  9. Beatles Medley
  10. How Deep Is Your Love
  11. Love Ain’t Here Anymore
  12. Sure
  13. Relight My Fire
  14. Back For Good
  15. Could It Be Magic
  16. Never Forget

All in all it was a fantastic night. You can view the pictures I took in my photo gallery. Hopefully the rumours are true and Take That will be releasing a new album later in the year! Watch this space…
